Creativity is a Lifeline of Connection

“The spirits put me together pretty good,

patched me up, got my pieces arranged

just right-

that’s why I got stories like this.”

-from “Buffalo Hide Helmet” by Cliff Taylor

The Memory of Souls by Cliff Taylor

Here’s a message from Cliff about the event:

“Of these two things I'm sure: we are all here to be creative and we are all here to walk/work with our ancestors. And whether the river of our life-force is flowing mightily or if it's all dammed up, we are also all already doing these two things to varying degrees.

It is my experience that even just talking about creativity and the ancestors brings them in through the door, gets them chiming in on the conversation. I look forward to sharing about these things from my life as a writer, a poet, a Sundancer, and a Ponca, and seeing what kind of inspiring illumination comes into our midst; because if I've learned anything, it's that creativity and the ancestors are all about inspiration and illumination.

Be brave, pack your curiosity, offer something to your ancestors, and let's see what happens when we all gather to talk about these things and these relatives that we love."

Creativity is one of the primary avenues of connection with the Ancestral Realm.

In Cliff’s own words, “Creativity links us up to the invisible world.”

When we move into a creative space, we move closer to our Ancestors, who are our main collaborators in creating the life we desire, and also the life we are meant to live for the sake of our people,  and in service to our communities.

Why might one want to connect with and talk with their Ancestors?

By doing so we are linking back up with that ephemeral stream, that ever blazing flame of their wisdom and intelligence, that directly deposits our most precious and valuable gifts into the rivers of our lives!

Living one’s Gifts and Purpose, and a healthy relationship with the Ancestors, go hand in hand.

Cliff and Aislinn have been together in devoted partnership for going on 6 years, and it is a joy to have him join us as a Guest Speaker!! Come sit with Ponca Poet, Writer, and Storyteller Cliff Taylor, and receive a powerful transmission on this innate connection between the realms.

About the Kontomblé +
Group Ceremony

The Kontomblé are the little people of the Dagara Tribe in Burkina Faso. Their culture and ways were brought to the West by Elder Malidoma Somé. The Little People are known by many names across many cultures. Recognized as leprechauns, fairies, gnomes, menehune, and more- their medicine and it’s message is universal in nature. They are the original stewards of the earth, and bringers of culture to humanity! They have always been a part of this world, and now, more than ever- they are wanting to reconnect with humanity to guide us through the transformational times we are in.

Often, the Kontomblé speak on behalf of all nations of little people. Messages from these relatives often come through in the form of poetry, playful riddles, and in the magic of 3’s. Their mother tongue is a language as old as earth, and it brings healing to both our body and spirit.

In a Group ceremony, the Kontomblé bring messages for the group as a whole and then receive 3 questions from the group at the end of their transmission. They also offer healings and activations, utilizing song and elemental ritual. I never know what they are going to say ahead of time, although sometimes they may give me insight into a ritual or particular offering that they are requesting from the group ahead of time, required for the energetic processes that will unfold, in which case you will be given ample notice to prepare!
